Are Your Microfiber Towels Top Quality?

If you’re left wondering whether your microfiber towels are up to the rigorous tasks you rely on them for, there are a few ways to determine if they are top-quality towels.

Any company can claim they have the perfect towels for your business needs, whether you need them in your automotive shop or at your restaurant and bar. In reality, the quality lies in their performance and not in the talk. If you’re left wondering whether your microfiber towels are up to the rigorous tasks you rely on them for, there are a few ways to determine if they are top-quality towels. Not all microfiber towels are the same, so you need to be able to tell when you’re working with a hit or a miss.

Super Absorbent

Microfiber towels are known for being super absorbent. This makes them ideal for many cleaning tasks, as well as for applying treatments and solutions to surfaces, such as car wax. Sure, all towels are absorbent. But, when you’re trying to do your job well to impress your customers, you need the best tools to get it done. A microfiber makes soaking up spills a breeze. If you’re using a poor-quality towel, it will likely push liquids around until the fibers can absorb it away.

Grips to Anything

Another way to tell if your microfiber towels are top quality is to see how well it grips and locks onto dirt and dust. For the same reason why microfiber feels uber soft, each fiber of the towel is split into many more tiny fibers. Think of the fibers as looking like an asterisk (*). The process of dividing the fibers and making extra “finger” fibers and space is what makes it great at catching liquid or solid messes. Of course, you can visually tell if the microfiber towel you’re using is effective by observing how clean a surface is after you pass over it. You can also feel the towel itself for its supreme softness, yet notice how it seems to be almost clinging to your hands as well.

Thick and Dense Fibers

You want your microfiber towels to last you many uses, and many washes in between. In order to tell if your towel is durable enough, especially after a couple of uses, assess how thick and dense the cloth is. You’ll want to look out for any signs that the towels are becoming frayed at the edges, or shedding fibers. If you notice it coming apart, then that’s a sign the towel is becoming less fiber-dense with each use! Also, stretch out the microfiber towel in front of a light source and look at it. You shouldn’t notice any substantial stretch or give to the material, and you shouldn’t be able to see any light coming through the towel.
